I am reminded that I am in love

Have been in love for awhile now, am now, and will be through out time, with the same woman. I've known her about 6 years, I guess, maybe less. I just know she occupies my heart.

Not your ordinary run of the mill, every day sort of relationship, mind you. She doesn't even live in the same state. Lives up in the Atlanta area. Moved up there a few months ago. And we haven't seen each other for at least 3 years, though we are in nearly daily communication.

She admits that I am very biased and prejudiced when I say she is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. It is true. She is a real head turner. And so very smart. Brilliant even. Clever!

Recently retired from 30 years as a senior personnel mgr with the county government in Miami. She was the one to turn to, to provide answers. And one of the most talented trainers I have ever met, though she disliked that aspect of her job.

We initially parted company over a disagreement, and the fact that I could not be around her, because she smoked. And my lungs were no longer up to being with her.

I respect her, more than any person I know, other than a couple members of my family.

I don't know that I have ever said this outloud before, but it does feel good saying it.

Will we ever be together? I seriously doubt it. I have too many problems physically, and she does not like being around sick people.

Never owned a pet

But have cohabitated with many. Mostly birds, cockatiels to be specific. Love em. gentle birds. low maintenance. very affectionate. And though they are highly trainable, I choose to allow them to simply be cockatiels.
Gus is the oldest, by about half a year. She is pied, which is greyish brown, with white wing tips. Oz, is the dominant of the two, male, pale yellow and white with grey wings and a grey necklace.
Gus is my buddy. Spents most of her time outside the cage on my shoulder or close by me.

Oz is more the macho type, tending to want to show off, and assert his independence.

But tiels are affection junkies, and neither of them are far away.

Also in this little aviary of mine are Marq and Buzz. Marq is an English Budgie, and Buzz is a keet. Found Marq outside near the dumpster, looking like some miniature snowy owl. Apparently an escapee from someones cage, though not in this neighborhood. I did check. When it was the three of them, Marq was the constant pest. Found out that the smaller birds do pester the larger ones. So that is where Buzz came in. Buzz turned out to be the one with the personality, though just a standard parakeet.

I love the four of them dearly
